A drum seen slightly from above with a zigzag cord around the shell and two sticks crossed in front. The zigzag is the one repeating element, and it gives the page a rhythm without adding difficulty.

How to color the Toy drum coloring page

Alternate two colours along the zigzag cord and the whole page gets a beat, which is a reasonable thing to want from a drum. Doing it needs a rule kept over about twenty turns, so it is quiet practice at not losing count. The sticks stay wood — one pale brown, strokes along their length. Everything else on the shell can be as loud as the child likes, because a drum is one of the few objects where loud is the point.
