Sheep with curly wool coloring page
- Farm animals
- Tracing Practice
- Free
A sheep whose whole fleece is drawn as a run of small dashed spirals. Tracing a curl and then the next one and the next is real pencil-control work, and it looks like wool by the time it is done.
Color by number version
A color by number version of the same subject, with 14 numbered areas and a key of 4 crayon colors. Each number sits inside its area, never on a line, and the key prints beneath the picture on the same sheet — so it still prints in black and white.

How to color the Sheep with curly wool coloring page
Do not try to finish the fleece in one go. Twenty curls is about the point where a hand starts to hurry, and hurried curls flatten into scribble, which undoes the whole effect. Ten now and ten later is better work and a happier child. Once traced, the fleece is best left white or barely grey — the tracing is already the texture, and colouring over it hides the very thing that took the effort.
