Kite with a long tail coloring page
- Toys
- Tracing Practice
- Free
A diamond kite with cross-spars and a tail of bows running down the page in dashes. The tail is a long wavy line with small shapes hung off it, which is good practice at keeping a stroke steady.
Color by number version
A color by number version of the same subject, with 23 numbered areas and a key of 5 crayon colors. Each number sits inside its area, never on a line, and the key prints beneath the picture on the same sheet — so it still prints in black and white.

How to color the Kite with a long tail coloring page
The long wavy tail is drawn with the arm, not the fingers — anchor the elbow and let the whole forearm swing down the page. Fingers produce a line made of small corrections, and on a stroke this long every correction shows. The bows hanging off it are the rests: finish a stretch of tail, do a bow, carry on. The diamond and its cross-spars are the easy part and can be left until the tail has been earned.
