Comet with a tail coloring page
- Space

A rough-edged comet head with two separate tails streaming behind it, the whole thing dashed. Two tails at slightly different angles is harder than it sounds — and the reason this sheet is worth doing twice.
Color by number version
A color by number version of the same subject, with 15 numbered areas and a key of 7 crayon colors. Each number sits inside its area, never on a line, and the key prints beneath the picture on the same sheet — so it still prints in black and white.

How to color the Comet with a tail coloring page
Two tails at different angles is not a drawing mistake, and explaining that is the best thing this sheet has to offer: a comet grows one tail of dust that curves behind it and one of gas that points straight away from the sun, so they really do separate. Trace the straight one first and the curved one second, because the curve is harder and benefits from a warmed-up hand. Print it twice — almost nobody gets both tails right the first time.
