Autumn pumpkin patch coloring page
- Seasons
- Classroom Poster
- Free
Three pumpkins of different sizes among leaves, with an empty banner across the top. The ribs on each pumpkin are drawn as closed segments, so a child can shade them light and dark without any grey.
Color by number version
A color by number version of the same subject, with 36 numbered areas and a key of 4 crayon colors. Each number sits inside its area, never on a line, and the key prints beneath the picture on the same sheet — so it still prints in black and white.

How to color the Autumn pumpkin patch coloring page
The ribs are closed segments, which means light and dark can be alternated without any grey and without any blending — one orange pressed hard, the same orange pressed lightly, taken in turn around each pumpkin. That is a shading effect achieved with a single pencil, and it is worth naming as such, because most children believe shading requires something they do not have. Three sizes also sort into an order, if a second activity is wanted.
