Hedgehog on leaves coloring page
- Animals
- Classroom Poster
- Free
A hedgehog walking across fallen leaves, with individual spines drawn as short strokes and every leaf outlined separately. Detailed enough to take a whole afternoon — this one rewards patience rather than speed.
Color by number version
A color by number version of the same subject, with 16 numbered areas and a key of 5 crayon colors. Each number sits inside its area, never on a line, and the key prints beneath the picture on the same sheet — so it still prints in black and white.

How to color the Hedgehog on leaves coloring page
Hand this to a child who complains that coloring is over too quickly. The spines are individual strokes and there are more than thirty leaves, so it is an afternoon rather than ten minutes, and it can be put down and picked up again without losing the thread. Do the leaves first in three or four autumn colours, then the hedgehog, so a hand resting on finished leaves never smudges wet spines. Pencils only here — markers close up the gaps between the spines.
