Dancing unicorn coloring page
- Unicorns & fantasy
- Tracing Practice
- Free
A unicorn up on its hind legs mid-step, drawn entirely in dashed lines. Tracing a figure that is off balance is harder than tracing a still one, so save this sheet for after the easier tracing pages.
Color by number version
A color by number version of the same subject, with 26 numbered areas and a key of 7 crayon colors. Each number sits inside its area, never on a line, and the key prints beneath the picture on the same sheet — so it still prints in black and white.

How to color the Dancing unicorn coloring page
Save this until the easier tracing sheets have been done, and then say why: a figure that is off balance has curves running in two directions at once, and the hand has to change direction mid-stroke. The trick that makes it possible is turning the paper rather than the wrist — let the child rotate the sheet so each curve is always being drawn away from the body. Colour afterwards if there is appetite for it, but the tracing is the whole exercise.
