An open rose seen from slightly above, petals spiraling in toward the middle, with thorns and serrated leaves on the stem. The overlapping petals are the reason this one takes a while.

How to color the Rose with leaves coloring page

Start at the centre and work outwards, making each ring of petals one step lighter than the one inside it. Three or four steps of the same pink is enough, and the flower gains depth without anyone attempting shading. Doing it the other way round — outside in — means the darkest petals end up on the rim and the rose flattens. The leaves and thorns are quick afterwards and want a green dark enough to let the pinks stay the brightest thing.
